I'm thinking a 9.5

9.5 on what you ask? Oh, just the crazy scale. I'm actually stressing about what to wear to the FOB concert tomorrow. I'm stressing over what I'm wearing to a teeny-bopper, sell-outs-r-us concert at 22 years old. Shoot me in the face. On a side note, Olivia Palermo has the most kick ass hair ever...(sigh)

Real life inspiration? I think so....Real Manhattan condescending socialite - shiny hair - dewy skin= Gossip Girl Character "Blair Waldorf"

Ok, so she's evil...but she makes evil look so damn good. Her style is amazing and she's extremely attractive to the point that I'm beginning to question my own sexual preference.

EW. The cover of cosmo?!?! Are you happy cosmopolitan? You now have my $3.95 for an awful article on boring-ass Whitney Port and her clearly air-brushed-on cleavage. What the hell did you put her in anyway? This isn't 1997. That dress is heinous. If I don't boost my sex drive and lose 5lbs in 7 days I'm writing an irate letter demanding my money back.

Why does anyone care about Hannah Montana still...much less the older audience of Glamour. You go from Michelle Obama and Jennifer Connely (i.e. people/celebrities actually worthy of an article, and/or respect) to efing Disney Princess? I wish she would just go away. P.S. Chip and Dale are missing their long lost sister.

In order to catch the eye of my odd, sexually driven boy-crush, Pete Wentz, tomorrow, I figure I'll channel Ashlee Simpson....who, the more and more I study her style, is basically the bootleg version of MK. Please note comparison below. Clearly, winner=MK.

Ashlee has nicer hair here (to me at least) but MK definitely wins again....on the shoes alone...lets be real.

Stick to your day job Ashlee (whatever the hell that may be these days)...no one puts MK in a corner (haha get it?...for all you readers with adult/good music taste, I was doing a little word play on a Fall Out Boy song title....oh, I digress)

Granted, it might be cold wherever Ashlee was when this pic was taken, and MK was likely in LA, but MK has it again. So, the game plan: dress like Ashlee Simpson (who really just dresses like MK Olsen) to win the affection of fun-sized bassist of Fall Out Boy, then, use this leverage to get backstage, and woo the band with my awesomeness/age, (since the braces-faced fans probably get old after a while,) and then have 10,000 Bronx-Mowgli-whatever the hell Pete named his first born-Babies with Wentz and live happily ever after with my terribly named children and his English bulldog Hemingway. (Sigh) I'll apply his guy-liner and dye his hair emo until the day he dies...

Fierce competition? Well, although my karaoke is a sight to be seen, I don't think I'll need to blame acid reflux for lip-synching embarrassment on national television. The jig is up Ash; there's a new blonde (er....former red-head) in town...

Wow, I suck

I am an awful little blogger these days. Ok, so sorry my life is awesome and I haven't had a moment to spare in recent weeks, but I've been traveling, laxing, working, and exploring to my heart's content and basically enjoying how great life is....i.e. I've been crazy busy. So I will take this opportunity (read: lapse in a unusually slow work day) to catch up.

Two weekends ago, went with Mancandy to NYC (via Hoboken, NJ). Saw a few of my besties, partied hard, and thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of spring.

Day drinking on roof-top bars with way too much of this.....

NYC has the best brunch ever....we spent 3 hours Saturday on mimosas and eggs Benedict.

LegallyBlonde's new home! My new building in Philly!! 18th Floor, baby.

Takes wayyy too much self-control to not want to grab one of these bad boys every day.

Oh the morning commute. I-95 and Septa...I don't recommend trying BEFORE you have your morning coffee...

Draft picks 2009....Fly Eagles Fly....Maclin and McCoy.

I swear to god we have the best fans ever. Sorry I'm so swelled with Philly pride right now, but the Flyers kick-ass.

I'll be here Sunday....pre-Point-to-Point. Broad Street Run before copious amounts of alcohol and horse racing.

Lacrosse is almost over. I'll miss my little kiddies, but sort-of excited to get my weekends back. I'll be dying sticks all day Saturday.

Instilling the important values of the game on young minds.

It was 90 degrees last weekend. So Hot Right Now. Spent Sunday laxing and tanning, and Saturday bbq-ing, day drinking and cornhole-ing. See pic above for reference.

Oh you sexy beasts. Seeing Fall Out Boy in concert tomorrow night!!!!!! I guarantee I will be one of the oldest people there.

I hate them. Honeymoon in Mexico + Swine Flu + the most irritating, self indulgent, photo whore, no-talent assclowns on television= this monstrosity.

Last season (tear). Even though life has been insane recently, I don't/can't/won't miss an episode.
Again, totes apologize for the lack of posts in recent weeks.

Can't Wait Til Memorial Day....

I officially have spring fever.

When will it be warm enough for no jacket necessary?????

No words. Wait! I want that bikini top...must stop evil evil tan lines!

Vintage Kate Vogue 1993...Beauty and the Beach.

So Fetch.

Perfect summer hair. I hope one of my summer housemates knows how to french braid!

Real People Part Deux

I've spoken recently about "hometown heroes" like Joe Biden and Ryan Phillipe, but one I haven't mentioned is an awesome girl I actually have known for 11 years/went to high school with/am friends with/see on a quasi-regular basis...."supermodel" Melody Woodin. Most people might not know her by name, but she's the leggy blonde in the most recent Loreal/Feria commercial with Beyonce.

The commercial itself is probably on youtube.

My friends/housemates/besties summer 2004 in our beach house pre-toga party. Best summer of my life by far. I wish I could find more pics. We worked at the same hole-in-the wall bar all summer and she was the only person that could fill the ice machine without a stool....
Customer: how tall are you?
Mellie: 6'2
Customer: why the hell are you working here? Move to New York!

Annnd the rest is history I suppose. We all knew she'd be an amazing model, but it was still crazy the first few times she was in magazines/ads. I saw her in an ad in cosmo during my freshman year and nearly fell off the treadmill.
Thanksgiving break of that same year in one of our friends' parents' basement. Please note the boons farm. Sweet Jesus. Please excuse the fashion...it was 2004.

Mellie in Dior Couture Winter 2008.

In April 2008 Elle chillaxin with Oscar De La Renta.

Backstage at a Galliano show.

My personal favorite. She is an awesome girl, completely down to earth, comes back to Delaware kinda a lot...and not just to catch up....this girl rides horses. Supermodel shoveling horse-poop...that's a sight. We are so proud of her!! Check out Melody Woodin!!!

Real People

So its officially my last day of work at my little Firm in Delaware. This means two things; 1) I will be doing little/zero actual work as my basic purpose is to "tie up loose ends", 2) ample time for blogging/trolling others' blogs. So I decided to do a post on both real people I know (including myself) and a few other bloggers with awesome style.

Another "scary" sorority pic. Spring break 07. 4th in from the right.

My current facebook pic. I'm still on the fence as to if/when I'm going to give my real name. My alias/pseudonym is just so kick-ass anyway. Only my besties check out/know of my Blog, hence, there is no link to the blog on my fb profile. I guess I'm just one of those people that likes to keep my separate worlds separate. One of the greatest things is that I have all my college friends (more or less) completely separate from my high school, Dewey Beach, and Wilmington/current life peeps. That probably makes me sound like a total creeper, but I enjoy having different circles. Things get way more complicated (i.e. dramatic) when worlds collide.

A college (vt) bestie. Has all the physical makings of a playmate and "baller" style, as she calls it, tart-a-licious would be my description. She wears what she wants, when she wants, thus shattering all fashion "codes" applicable to "time and place". Usually, she is quite lolita-esque. Pic is from a summer wedding...she's in a "sundress".

Audrey at Frassy Fashion. Link on right of my blog. Amazing style. Student in England.

Karla of Karla's Closet. Link also on right. Student in LA. This pic was from a photo shoot she did for Quicksilver Women, which by the way also started a blog. I'm a little addicted to it....

oh, and fyi. \m/= hang ten in text format. One of my professional deadbeat friends texted it to me last night and I thought it was hilarious...er...gnarley.

A little bit of this....A little bit of that

Another mixed bag post....so much to share so little time. Who am I kidding? Basically playing at work (more so than usual) since I only have 2 days left! woot woot!

More waspy weekend pics to come. I wish I could remember what was being said in this photo to make me have THAT much of an exaggerated reaction...I blame it on the wine. MMM the seersucker couple. Yeah, that's ManCandy alright.

Dunzo.

Nice black on black. Do her boobs look bigger to you? Hmmm. Oh, and the vest has to go. Nice look otherwise.

Such a hot look. I love it when couples happen to have great style together...not in the "look we match!" way, but the subtle, not pre-contrived way. I highly doubt I will comment on the style of Joe Jonas or Camille Bell for a while (unless they are getting wayyy better at this by the moment! one can hope!!), but they look awesome here.

Samantha with hair. Haha. Charlotte Ronson fashion show. Great new line!!!

Perfect spring work outfit. I'm in love with that Dress. Would look great on MObama too!

My inspiration for current work attire. Another frosty 40 degree day in 19806. Stockholm street style. Do all Nordic people have great style?

Where I wish I was right now......
