Looky Looky.....Book-y

Just some random yet awsome inspiration from Lookbook. I guess this sort of Fashion mecca is what you get from invite only....

I like this because I could probably pull this off for work...ok maybe the dress needs to be a leeettle longer.

I have yet to purchase and/or attempt this but I totally want to. I saw a waitress wearing tights like these last night and was in awe. So hot right now.

Does anyone remember these books!?! My parents gave me "Miss Manners" last x-mas as a joke (not funny). I loaded it on to facebook and tagged my friends. haha.

Bad ass. Totes breaks the old black and blue rule. No bruise-likeness here (get it? black and blue?)

I finally found pants like this!!! Not quite as cool (not as skinny in the leg) but I think my sewing machine will do the trick. God I love thrift shopping. The next nice day I will try to rock this look. TGIF!

Siennnaaaaaaaa

There is a fine line between girl crush and obsession. I am obsessed with Sienna Miller. She blew me away in Alfie. I love that film and she was cast in one of the greatest supporting roles ever created...a beautiful, crazy, sexual, hot mess. The knife-wielding/blue paint scene? Common! Score one for all the crazies out there.

On top of other great roles (Edie Sedgewick, Camille), she's a pretty awesome designer (twenty8twelve) and a bad ass fashion icon. I mean, she brought back the leotard!

Unfortunately her personal life and/or exposed boobs dim the spotlight on her coolness, but I appreciate her more for it. Who would cheat on this chick? (cough, Jude Law is an idiot, cough). And I proudly support her in her topless antics. Naked kids of the world unite! If she wants to ready the paper on her balcony with no shirt on, by golly let the girl.

But seriously, lets all take a minute and look at her style perfection. A little more put together than Kate Moss, and more polished hair than Ash Olsen, she is my muse/inspiration/idol.

Not to mention she always dazzles on the red carpet. Another thing I really respect/appreciate is her petite-ness yet never eating disorder-esque physique. I never look at her and think, "For God's sake eat a sandwich." She looks toned and just glows. She looks like the picture of health (aside from the occasional cigarette, of course).

Sigh. Homegirl, you just rule. You provide me with so much, one post is not enough. I can't wait for G.I. Joe rise of the Cobra! Its like and Eon Flux/Bond Girl wet dream.

I've been thinking....

Sick Girl

Luckily I'm ok, but the lack of posts have been because I've been extremely ill. What may or may not have been a side effect of the bacterial-riddled Trader Joe's wrap, the better part of the past 10 days have been spent recovering from a Hurrican Katrina strength decimation of my intestines. A few more tests at the end of this week will ultimately determine the true culprit, but I'm working my way back up to speed.

If only I looked this glamorous when sick. I think I actually have negative style when ill; bringing back the oversized sweats and old Field Hockey 2003 t-shirts. Did I mention the anti-hair and make-up stance?

In addition to my illness, I've been taking care of my (my parents') dog while they were out of town. Cute little bugger, but absolutely nuts. I love Chihuahuas. This one is seriously disturbed though. He's on doggy prozac.

Ode to Olsen

There are many people/things I tend to mention a great deal in this blog...can you guess number 1 and 2? If you said the Olsens and Lauren Conrad, congratulations you have eyes and/or are literate. But yes, my obsession with the Olsens goes beyond addictive reality tv and tabloid updates. I actually respect/admire them as business people, talented and driven artists, and having more balls than a jumbo-size gum machine. Mary-Kate's Interview article just came out online and I'm dying. Dare I say Christopher Bollen actually gives her the credit she deserves? read more here http://www.interviewmagazine.com/fashion/mary-kate-olsen/

My absolute favorite Timothy White Photo......

Awe inspiring.......

Just another manic Monday...

Everyone likes the Bangles right? There is no more perfect song for a Monday you have to work when everyone else has off....

Channeling Joan Crawford. No one else does the leopard and green so well. Despite being a big bag of crazy, she was still a verifiable fashion icon.

TGIF

Busy day. I think I had mild food poisoning from a Trader Joe's salmon wrap...stomach was so not ok all day today. Made the day go by painfully slow...literally and figuratively. Anyway, weekend is here so I'll stop bitching, suck it up, and enjoy!!!!

Simple but rad. Totes what I think I'm going to wear tonight......

Found this on look book. Probably one of the most awesome dresses ever, no?

Thought I would share: Jason Whaler (Laguna Beach fame) - Line beard + line goatee + hellacious arm=Superbowl Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Hey Baby

Another day winds down as I chug my third and final large cup of coffee. Got another promo tonight with the Yuppie crowd at this swanky 1950's styled lounge...should be fun, especially since I'm working it with my favorite crazian (crazy asian-american friend).

Chloe Sevigny does this look oh so well. I'm hoping one of my thrift shopping endeavors finds me a pair of pants like that....

No Doubt is going on tour again!!!!!! I'm sooooooo stoked! I thank the ska gods that their last album of "greatest hits" wasn't a euphemism for "this band is so done." I cannot wait to frivolously spend $$ I don't have on sweet-ass tickets! I love you Tony Kanal.

I may be one of the last people on earth to discover Lookbook, but it is definately inspirational... check it out http://lookbook.nu/#more

I wish someone would teach me how to do my hair like this......

One more day until the weekend makes me such a happy girl.......

Total Girl Crush Part Deux

As if it isn't obvious enough, I have a small obsession with Lauren Conrad....see Total Girl Crush part 1. Thus as an avid admirer, I submit myself to a weekly indulgence of bad televison a.k.a The Hills. Like every other MTV program, The Hills has spawned equally awful reality spin-offs; insert The City and my personal favorite, Bromance.

Before, I was usually annoyed/bored by squeaky-clean sidekick Whitney Port. She was like the extra cheese on an already delicious plate of Nachos Grande; unecessary yet add a gooey layer of cheesiness. She offered her goodie-goodie opinions/advice, dressed reasonably well, and juxtaposed the other hellacious characters nicely.

Hence, I was less than stoked that she got her own show. Truthfully, I don't believe any of the people on The Hills deserve a spin off, but if drama was what MTV was going for, an uber-complacent, leggy blonde doesn't scream "ratings". However, I did what MTV executives predicted. Based on my taste for The Hills, I expanded my palate and sampled The City. I was unimpressed at the first few episodes; Jay= yawn, Erin and Allie have potential to develop but no "wow" factor, and some hint of future points of contention...e.i. possible thunder in Whitney's Lipstick Jungle paradise, but nothing worth TIVO-ing. However, Whitney's token facial expressions that speak without words, more dialogue minus the voice-over narration common to The Hills, and less "staged" vibes got me intrigued to say the least. Now, 8 episodes later, I'm hooked.

What changed my tune? Cheating boyfriends and body issues aside...I'm in like with the celebutante that steals the show....Olivia Palmero. The real-life Blair Walfdorf makes it hurt so good. This snobby snow-queen is better than speidi and has dynamite potential. Not to mention drool-worthy clothes and hair (and apartment.)

Yes, I am well aware Daddy/the trust fund paid for the awesome wardrobe and her "job" may or may not be fake; nevertheless I'm going to tune in next week.

I love to hate her and she might just give LC a run for her money in when it comes to style.....

65 and Sunny

Current temperature in February in Delaware. Ridiculous! I love the warm weather and I hope this lasts...highly improbable though. Another slow-ish day at work....yawn. My boss likes to load me up in the morning and then send me on errands in the afternoon. However, the days when I'm not running around go by painfully slow, BUT gives me time to browse.....
How cool is this bag? I've had this random thing for antlers. Bottega Veneta always has cool embellishments similar to this. However, this beauty aptly named "folie a deux", (fall out boy reference? they did make antlers hip in "sugar, we're going down"....) is by Rich-in-Craft, an L.A. design company. Only 36 have been made! LUST!

Timothy White's Hollywood Pin-ups book. Amazing. Mary-Kate and Ash's are great too. I highly recommend checking it out.

This weather is making mecome to terms with the harsh reality that bathing suit season is approaching...

She's grown up so much! I love this look. Dakota is flawless!

Speaking of swimsuit season, congratulations to Bar Rafaeli! She landed the cover of 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition! She is breathtakingly gorgeous. Can you believe she is only 23! She has such a presence, I definately thought she was older. So successful so quickly. I guess dating Leonardo doesn't hurt. So Hot Right Now!

Odd Childhood Crushes

I was having an interesting conversation Sunday with a few of my friends. We all seemed to have had weird celebrity crushes when we were children. I heard some really funny ones, like Karen Allen (the girl from Indiana Jones) and Tea Leoni (see below)....

And then there were the obvious; Jonathan Taylor Thomas, "Cory Matthews", Hanson!
I was and still am the athlete crusher. MMMM. Jayson Werth. But I remember loving Eric Lindros at age 10.

Another weird one I had as a kid was Jeff Goldblum. (????) Jurassic Park, Independence Day, and my personal favorite; Earth Girls are Easy.

Probably the most enduring crush is/has been Brandon Boyd. What a gorgeous specimen. I have loved him from age 12 on.....
