Wowza

Sometimes, I watch all the hub-bub about this girl's style and I just don't see it. Don't get me wrong! I really like Kate Bosworth as a celebrity (she seems pretty normal) and she is the star of one of my favorite guilty pleasure, although a little embarrassing to admit how many times I've watched it, movies....ah-hem, Blue Crush, but I didn't think of her style as necessarily iconic. But then I see a pic like this (or her in the Philllip Lim zipper dress) and I'm blown away.

On the other hand, Erin Wasson always excites. One of the few celebs that seems like they would be so much fun to be friends with.

Bosworth again. I love love love gray. I have gray eyes so I think its particularly flattering on moi. As a color though, it is extremely under-utilized and is so flattering on most skin tones. This outfit is perfection. Bam!

She really really makes me miss being Blonde as well. 2 weeks guys! I made my appointment to come back from the dark side!!

I really like this pop of hot pink! Pink is actually my favorite color, and I have tons of it (hello, ex-sorority!) I'm a fan of pink and gray together as well. The REAL reason I posted this photo though was because someone looks like they've got a bun in the oven....no? Either way, Kate looks amazing here...preggers or not.

In one interview, Alexa Chung said, “I’ve used up all that neurosis [poor body image resulting from modeling] – there’s none left. I’d rather have a bigger brain than smaller bones.” I just fell in love with this girl. I have the same feeling towards her style as I do Kate Bosworth...eh, mostly hits, but no "wow" factor. However, this look I love. I would totally wear this on an early spring day....perfect for a Saturday brunch.

Wowza. Mancandy makes fun of me for using this as my descriptive exclamation, but it encompasses it all the best. (and for my friend Jerri...Bam! works as well) But seriously, how amazing is this Alexander Wang dress? Diane Kruger does it the best justice in my opinion. Check out below.

That dress....? So Hot Right Now.

Makin me Smile

I'm guessing most tabloid-addicted people will sympathize with my next statement: I live vicariously through celebrity gossip, and I play favorites. When my favorite celebs are happy in their lives, I am filled with a remote degree of joy. This has been a good week for me!

Yay! I want them to work out so badly. Please! John, write her a kick-ass love song, make some babies, and make America's Sweetheart America's MILF. Eat your heart out Angelina!

I usually think John Mayer looks kinds of like a doof, but he really looks happy/excited here. (ok, maybe a little doofy)

I'm overjoyed Nicole is having another spawn! For all the people famous for doing nothing, I respect and admire Nicole the most. She cleaned up her life, became a fashion icon, and separated herself from volatile friends. She's not a paparazzi whore with her family and really seems to try to give Harlow a normal childhood.

And obviously, she can still dress. Cutest pregnant fashion by far. (runner-up M.I.A.)

She has her trademarks about her (big sunglasses, scarves, booties, leggings, etc.) but never looks "typical Nicole, " whereas plenty of celebs can fall into that trap (cough Mischa Barton, Lindsey Whorehan, cough). And, I appreciate that her hair looks brushed/styled most of the time (sorry MK...I still worship you though!).

I feel the need to expand on my statement about bangs after seeing my near and dear commit near tragedy. I'll reiterate my basic premises: 1) blunt cut bangs are the devil. 2) they are one of the worst hair trends ever created/to come back. 3) they flatter almost no one* 4) *= people who have huge foreheads actually look great in them. 5) Friends don't let friends get blunt cut bangs.

Zooey Deschanel does not have the hated bangs. Hers are softly cut, growing out and tousled. She looks great. This is completely acceptable.

This is what a blunt cut bang looks like. This would be disastrous if Christina Ricci did not have the largest forehead known to man. She is the exception. She can pull this off. Conclusion? If your forehead cannot double as a helicopter landing pad, do not attempt.

Now, I realize LC's "bangs" are not blunt cut. They would be acceptable, however, WHY DID YOU MESS WITH PERFECTION LAUREN?! You had the most coveted hair in Hollywood! This isn't awful, but it's a far cry from your usual golden, flowing tresses.

I tend to shy away from writing/commenting too much on fashion week/runway. I know my style and I know what looks good, but I don't feel I am in a position to comment on couture. However, Erin Wasson x RVCA is very near and dear to me. As a veteran "Dewey Rat" (the negatively connotated term for a person in/around Delaware whom wasted many a summer in Dewey Beach, Delaware with the fake surfer/skimmer-professional deadbeat crowd and refuses to age out of the town frequented by late teen/early twenty-somethings), I have always loved RVCA and almost spontaneously combusted when I heard word Erin was designing for them.

Wasson is very much the face of the Alexander Wang inspired, heavily distressed and masculine trend that has swept fashion besides the one feminine breath last may courtesy of SJP/Patricia Field with Sex and the City. Erin's personal style comes through very much with this collection.

Doesn't it all just scream "bad ass"? While you will never find me in crushed velvet bell bottoms I would sell my first born for the striped shirt/dress the model in the center is wearing...with or without the ankle boots.

Manager's Special

I had too many little things that couldn't wait until tomorrow to share.

Found a pic of Sienna in costume for the upcoming G.I. Joe flick. Amazing right?

A beautiful pic of my absolute favorite couple ever looking so timeless at the Oscars.

Guess who's engaged?!??!! That's right, Rachel Bilson is getting married to Hayden Christensen! (baby Darth Vader in the new(er) Star Wars)

I can't say cutest baby ever because Kingston Rossdale/Stefani or new baby Zuma are pretty adorable, but look at the mug on Harlow.

I adore this family. Surprise! Guess who's pregnant again!!!! Sooo unexpected.

I don't care what anyone says. This man never changes. I have always and will always think Ralph Lauren is uber sexy.

Usually I'm not impressed by Elizabeth Banks on the red carpet (although I do love her as an actress, especially when she played the epitome of a "cool" chick in Invincible with Marky-Mark), but this Dior number blew me away.

Guess who's doing a line for Target....... oh and it Debuts TOMORROW!!!!!

Check out Alexander McQueen's items as of 3/4/09. See pics above and below.

Yum. P.S. Sorry if my gossip is behind the pulse but I was sick (again) over the weekend and just now able to catch up on the good stuff.

More like a Lion....

Not that I didn't already hate winter enough, but 8 inches of snow and single digit wind chills really make me wish; 1) that I could afford a tropical vacation, and 2) that I had vacation days to designate to a tropical vacation, 3) that I could have the 1/2 hour I spent scraping my car this morning back. I can't be too bitter though; I did actually get a snow day yesterday (and by snow day I mean pathetically texting my boss "snow day? please take mercy on my soul." and he responding "ok, but be in by 8:30 tomorrow." I'll take that) which I spent prancing around in my adult long-johns (which by the way are sick) and watching 15 episodes of Arrested Development. So instead of concentrating on the shiteous weather outside my door, I'm going to dedicate a post to things I wish I could be wearing right now/spring-ish ensembles.

Rachel Bilson is adorable. I rarely use adorable when referring to stoner beanies, but she clearly is exception to the rule.

I can't wait til Memorial Day. I don't always follow the traditional rule per se (I figure May is fair game) but isn't Isla Fisher's white dress hot? I really like her accessories as well. The necklace is such an attention getter and the Louboutins make me spasm with envy.

Really, she can do no wrong. I realize the weather is probably 75 degrees in this picture and Rachel is one of those people that looks cute squatting on a toilet seat, but damn, I wish I looked like this when casually walking my dog. Granted its winter, but I oscillate between looking homeless and Michelin man when I take the dog out these days. Also, I posted a while ago about my hatred for blunt cut bangs, however she is probably one of the few that I don't mind. She is petite, but for some reason the bangs don't over-power her features.

This is the perfect "season transition" dress. The color and fabric are quite winter-y, but the 3/4 sleeve and light bronze accessories work really well. This would be perfect for work with a tan trench. All I need to wait for is the snow to melt......

This is an older look of Posh's (clearly denoted by the longer locks). I have a mild obsession with hounds tooth, for which I blame Gwen Stefani, and high waisted skirts. This ensemble would really work in any season, but the blouse is designed for warmer temps.

Gah! I love this girl. I'm drooling over those shoes. I've been searching for a skirt like this, but usually my searches yield things that look like they belong in an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog circa 2004.

Another perfect "transition" dress. It could easily be worn alone, but tights and boots make it work during these last snow-y days. Clearly, coat necessary. Kiera has great style. I haven't mentioned her too much recently, so I feel I should dedicate a post in the near future...

TO-GA! TO-GA! Alexander Wang Goddess dress. So. Hot. Right. Now.

Looky Looky.....Book-y

Just some random yet awsome inspiration from Lookbook. I guess this sort of Fashion mecca is what you get from invite only....

I like this because I could probably pull this off for work...ok maybe the dress needs to be a leeettle longer.

I have yet to purchase and/or attempt this but I totally want to. I saw a waitress wearing tights like these last night and was in awe. So hot right now.

Does anyone remember these books!?! My parents gave me "Miss Manners" last x-mas as a joke (not funny). I loaded it on to facebook and tagged my friends. haha.

Bad ass. Totes breaks the old black and blue rule. No bruise-likeness here (get it? black and blue?)

I finally found pants like this!!! Not quite as cool (not as skinny in the leg) but I think my sewing machine will do the trick. God I love thrift shopping. The next nice day I will try to rock this look. TGIF!

Siennnaaaaaaaa

There is a fine line between girl crush and obsession. I am obsessed with Sienna Miller. She blew me away in Alfie. I love that film and she was cast in one of the greatest supporting roles ever created...a beautiful, crazy, sexual, hot mess. The knife-wielding/blue paint scene? Common! Score one for all the crazies out there.

On top of other great roles (Edie Sedgewick, Camille), she's a pretty awesome designer (twenty8twelve) and a bad ass fashion icon. I mean, she brought back the leotard!

Unfortunately her personal life and/or exposed boobs dim the spotlight on her coolness, but I appreciate her more for it. Who would cheat on this chick? (cough, Jude Law is an idiot, cough). And I proudly support her in her topless antics. Naked kids of the world unite! If she wants to ready the paper on her balcony with no shirt on, by golly let the girl.

But seriously, lets all take a minute and look at her style perfection. A little more put together than Kate Moss, and more polished hair than Ash Olsen, she is my muse/inspiration/idol.

Not to mention she always dazzles on the red carpet. Another thing I really respect/appreciate is her petite-ness yet never eating disorder-esque physique. I never look at her and think, "For God's sake eat a sandwich." She looks toned and just glows. She looks like the picture of health (aside from the occasional cigarette, of course).

Sigh. Homegirl, you just rule. You provide me with so much, one post is not enough. I can't wait for G.I. Joe rise of the Cobra! Its like and Eon Flux/Bond Girl wet dream.

I've been thinking....

Sick Girl

Luckily I'm ok, but the lack of posts have been because I've been extremely ill. What may or may not have been a side effect of the bacterial-riddled Trader Joe's wrap, the better part of the past 10 days have been spent recovering from a Hurrican Katrina strength decimation of my intestines. A few more tests at the end of this week will ultimately determine the true culprit, but I'm working my way back up to speed.

If only I looked this glamorous when sick. I think I actually have negative style when ill; bringing back the oversized sweats and old Field Hockey 2003 t-shirts. Did I mention the anti-hair and make-up stance?

In addition to my illness, I've been taking care of my (my parents') dog while they were out of town. Cute little bugger, but absolutely nuts. I love Chihuahuas. This one is seriously disturbed though. He's on doggy prozac.
